best typeface ever?

I started watching the movie Fay Grim last night and only got as far as the opening credits. The typeface they used is just amazing.
I took a screenshot and fed it into the myfonts.com recogniser (~zer for you yanks), it spat out the wrong font, then i tried the fontsfonts.com recogniser and finally zeroed in on the right typeface: FF Din Regular

I have to say it's possibly the most beautiful typeface ive ever seen. so clean and solid. I bought the whole font-family. now just have to use it for something.
It has taken the crown from helvetica - which was my previous fave.

What's your favourite typeface? Do you have one?

Whats been happening lately? Well I finished my contract with dopeden. com - all the interface design is is finished. The database is still being finalised and the flash-monkeys are going through beta troubleshooting. site should be up in a few weeks. And if evrything goes well it will be the next big social-networking site, and take a good percentage of myspace users.
Wish I could post some screens of it, but im still under NDA till it launches.

Working a contract for hippo. com.au now, which is a targeted youth site for casual and part-time jobs (like SEEK.com for you aussies, or monster.com for you yanks).
Im Creative Director / Senior Designer - which is a wanky title lol, mostly doing media-buying and advertising strategies (which is a bit dry tbh). Still doing design but it's not overly exciting, have to stick within the corporate style/colours etc. Not a lot of room for creativity. Most creative stuff is coming up with snappy billboard slogans that are edgy and tongue-in-cheek-without-being-too-risque - not nearly as fun as jamming out some designs in ps/ill.
Its interesting doing the media buying side of things though, I havnt been exposed to that side of the industry before. A good learnign experience.
Got some meetings lined up with MTV/VH1 next week to discuss oportunities for cross promotions, motion is somthing im keen to get into, try my hand at something new

thats all thats kickin with me right now. oh yeah, bought a Pantone Huey finally! fantastic little gadget, and so cute

Been away a while. Doing this, not doing that... Thanks to all the ppl who have left comments etc.
I think I'll give this dA thing another try

Damn it's good to be feeling creative again.

So i've got a new camera, well a camera. It's the first one ive ever owned: Canon 350D - and I love it. Im having a serious love affair with it. I never knew photography had so many trinkets and gadgets and addons. eBay all the way! Ive bought extra lenses, filters, bags, cards, remote controls, hoods... now I just have to learn how to use the damn thing.
I mean I didnt even know wtf aperture or fstop was till a few weeks ago. So im teaching myself what everything does, and getting out whenever I can to snap away at whatever happens to be in front of me.
I live in a really uninspiring suburb though, so it means I have to actually go somewhere new to take photos (I am quite an experienced hermit/recluse) Its refreshing and exciting exploring parts of this great city I've never seen.
I havnt taken shots of any people yet, not sure how to aproach that one, I guess it will happen naturally when I get more confident with the camera.

I've forced myself to stop buying new parts for my computer and have been saving money for a trip overseas. Not sure where yet, I just know I need to travel soon and see new horizons. Life has become a bit of a blur of routine lately.

I've got some ideas for my next piece, which would be the umm, yeah second time that's ever happened (the first was in grade 2 when I wanted to draw a picture of our house) so thats a refreshing change, have to see how it pans out.

blah blah should just be a cage fighter...

Logged on this morning after an extended leave from dA and what do I find? I've got second DD

Huge thanks to

for picking Permutations as his first DD selection. Strange that it got picked though - seeing as it's an old piece, i'm not complaining but i would have liked to see the DD go to some one else with a fresh piece. ah well
Thanks to everyone who has commented and fave'd it, im reading/replying to them now.
Got some more design work on so there should be some new submissions in a week or so. I was reluctant to take on a new job because I honestly didnt think I'd have the inspiration to make anything, but once i got started it all came back.

will i ever get my mojo back? perhaps i need a new job, if that's the reason i have no inspiration to create art.
-methinks i just need a new head.
I hope i'll return to dA someday. but for now i'll wallow in my own self-doubt.
